According to the statement of World Health Organization: "Breastfeeding is the normal way of providing young infants with the nutrients they need for healthy growth and development... Exclusive breastfeeding is recommended up to 6 months of age, with continued breastfeeding along with appropriate complementary foods up to two years of age or beyond."
Taking this into account we would like all mothers of the world to have the comfortable service of compatibility of medicines and food products with breastfeeding on hand. All you need to do is simply write the name of medicine/food product in checking window and press “Check” button. You will therefore see which products are compatible with breastfeeding, which are objectionable, and which are downright forbidden to use while breastfeeding.
At the moment E-lactation.com service supports 3 languages: Ukrainian, Russian, and English, but we have big plans ahead!
The main source of data is www.e-lactancia.org, we just translate the texts to local languages, complete and update the information, as well as promote breastfeeding all over. In particular, we supplemented the database of Trademarks by the list of medications registered in the “State Register of Medicines of Ukraine”.
The information of www.e-lactancia.org site corresponds to the standards of reliable information about health of one of the most respected nonprofit portals of medical information in the Web – Health On the Net Foundation (https://www.hon.ch) and is recommended by many competent international medical organizations: http://www.e-lactancia.org/avales/
