Nitazoxanide

Anti-protozoan drug which is used for treatment of Cryptosporidiosis, Giardia lamblia infection, Intestinal Amoeba Disease, Blastocystis, Leishmaniasis of skin and Microsporidiosis.

Excreted into breast milk in non-significant clinical amount.

The use is authorized for children older than 1 year. Likely side-effects are mild and infrequent (abdominal pain, diarrhea, vomiting)
