Is Tamsulosin compatible with breastfeeding? Do we have alternatives for Tamsulosin?

Tamsulosin

October 17, 2016 (Low Risk)

It is an alpha-1-adrenergic blocking agent that is used for treatment of benign prostate hypertrophy and troubles with urine voiding as obstruction or lithiasis.

At latest update, relevant published data on excretion into breast milk were not found.

Because of its pharmacokinetics (moderately high molecular weight and high protein-binding capacity) excretion into breast milk in significant amount is unlikely.
