Левоноргестрел

Прогестин, що містить протизаплідний препарат, який використовується у вигляді разової дози для перорального, підшкірного імплантату, внутрішньоматкового пристрою (ВМС) або введення невідкладної контрацепції.
Також продається у комбінації з етинілестрадіолом

Левоноргестрел є прогестином і активним ізомером метаболитным норгестрела, обидва отримані з нортестостерону. Він виводиться з грудного молока клінічно незначній кількості, і ніяких проблем не спостерігається у немовлят, чиї матері лікувалися. Рівні плазми цих немовлят були дуже низькими.

Левоноргестрел і прогестагени зазвичай вважаються контрацептивними препаратами вибору під час лактації, оскільки вони не змінюють кількість і склад молока і не викликають побічних ефектів як при зростанні немовлят, так і тривалості грудного вигодовування.
Опубліковані результати дослідження показали захист від втрати маси молочної залози з використанням тільки прогестинових контрацептивів.

Протягом перших 6 тижнів післяпологового періоду вибираються внегормональные методи. Існує дискусія про роль прогестинових препаратів у зниженні виробництва молока при використанні до того, як лактація повністю встановлена.

Американська академія педіатрії заявляє, що цей препарат зазвичай сумісний з грудним вигодовуванням.
